Film & TV Language: Editing blog task

Breaking bad opening scene The opening scene of  Breaking Bad  is immediately engaging due to the way editing is used to confuse, excite, and intrigue the audience. Rather than easing viewers into the narrative, the sequence throws them straight into the middle of events, using continuity editing, pace, juxtaposition, and montage to create strong enigma and action codes. The editing plays a crucial role in shaping how the audience understands the scene and encourages them to keep watching in order to resolve unanswered questions. Most of the editing in the opening scene follows the rules of continuity editing. Although the situation appears chaotic, the shots are arranged so that events follow on logically from one another. For example, when the scene cuts from the speeding RV to the interior where objects and bodies are being thrown around, the audience automatically understands that this movement is caused by the reckless driving. Film & TV Language: Editing practical video

 The location is in my room, it is a illegal deal to buy a lightsaber - and it is myself and a friend outside of  the media class filming The audio on my recording hadn't worked as intended so i had to replace the audio with subtitles and music. We used monoply money to replicate a large sum of money handed in the deal and a lightsaber as props. Script: Aman walks into the room and sits down seeing daffyd counting money. Daffyd sets down the money as turns to Aman DAFFYD - ' what brings you in ? ' AMAN - ' I'm here to buy the sword ' pulling out a large sum of money to hand over to daffyd confidently.        'That should be all of it '  Daffyd takes the money and starts counting it rapidly. DAFFYD - ' Yeah this is good '  Daffyd then pulls out a mysterious bag from behind handing to Aman              ' Here you go! '  Aman takes the bag and opens it , checking out the lightsaber astonished. AMAN - ' Wow...

Cinematography video feedback/learner response

  1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher. -good description on blog -montage editing sequence - some excellent angles -colour grading -good use of setting -efficient narrative EBI: -abrupt editing 2) Type up your feedback from fellow students. -Good music -good angles -good colour scheme -good narative -dialogue added -good location -good audio 3) Now reflect on your work and write your own summary of the comments and feedback you have received. Write  three  WWWs and  three  EBIs. I think i did these well: - Camera angles -good editing sequence -excellent angles I think i need to improve on : -more planning ( shotlist)  - abrupt editing 4) L earner response: think about what you  learned about cinematography  making the video and also watching others.
